Well, I've had two sessions since my last update, so I'll add them here in reverse chronological order.
Session 2(Dec 23, 5 hours): No real good cards all night. A Q suited once, pocket 10s twice, and not a whole lot else. No pocket pairs above 10s. I somehow managed to profit $75, for a total of $15/hr or 2.5BB/hr. Not too shabby at all, all things considered. One lady had pocket aces 3 times, and they were busted each time. By river rats, of course. She also had pocket kings and two sets busted, so her luck was running really low.
I played a few hands I maybe shouldn't have, but when the game is super loose, it's hard not to. People raising with A3o and such. I even saw a pre-flop raise have 9 players (of course, I was the only one to fold).
Session 1(Dec 22, 8 hours): This night started off extremely slow. I played an obscenely low number of hands within the first 2.5 hours. Outside of blinds, I think I played 5-8 hands in those 2.5 hours. I went down over $80 in the first hour, and $140 in the first two. The game wasn't as maniac as the first night I played. The players were definitely better.
However, later on in the night, I started getting some nicer cards, and new players made the table much looser. For the last hour or two, the table was completely new players, who weren't as good as the other ones.
I ended up $148, which is $18.5/hr or roughly 3BB/hr. Good numbers yet again.Weekly Status: : +425 Overall Status: : +56 |
This journal was started so that I could keep a separate log of my poker activities. A minor note: All online activity is in USD, but all b&m activity is in CDN. I convert the CDN to USD when I do the overall and weekly status.
Friday night I flew back home, and since my flight was delayed 2 hours, I didn't have enough time to go to the local casino for a game. Instead I played online at Party, and went up ~$75 in a short time, playing $25 NL.
Last night I was able to get some time in at the b&m casino, and it was a killer night. I played for less than 4 hours, and walked away +$205, which converts to over $50/hr and 9BB/hr. It was the typical local low limit game: Way too many people playing way too many hands. I played my normal tight game, and had some luck. Pocket 9 5 o in the big blind, and I flop a straight.
I had pocket queens twice, and they held up both times (and got capped pre-flop with 4 callers one hand!). Pocket Kings held up as well, as did nearly everything I played. My showdown percentage had to be 80%+. Overall a great night.
Unfortunately, I'll only be able to play this game for two more weeks, as I have to ship off for school in the New Year. With Christmas and all of the family stuff going on, I hope I can squeeze 5-8 more sessions in.Weekly Status: : +250 Overall Status: : -112.5 |
